چکیده

Introduction: Supraclavicular brachial plexus block provides the optimal operating conditions for upper arm surgery. The study was conducted to assess efficacy of dexamethasone as an adjuvant bupivacaine in supraclavicular block. Methods: An experimental performed Gandaki Medical College and Teaching hospital, Pokhara. Forty patients undergoing surgery elbow, forearm, hand under block, with 0.25% normal saline (n = 20) Group I versus II equal volume 30 ml each group. Randomization done onset sensory motor blockade duration analgesia compared both groups. Statistical package social sciences version 24.0 software used. Continuous variables like time first rescue were assessed student’s t-test chi-square test applied categorical visual analogue score score. Results: only group 504.10±70.24 seconds (255.65±75.28) seconds. bupivacaine-only 813.00±74.57 (524.25±80.38) Time 542.5±126.33 minutes (1245±325.66) minutes. difference statistically significant all findings (p<0.0001). Conclusions: concluded that addition prolongs faster blocks.

Evaluation of the analgesic effect of 2 doses of verapamil with bupivacaine compared with bupivacaine alone in supraclavicular brachial plexus block

Abstract Background: Different adjuvant drugs have been used with local anesthetics in order to decrease the time of onset and elongate the duration and quality of regional blocks. This study was performed to study the effects of one of the adjuvants, verapamil, in supraclavicular block. Methods: In this double blinded clinical trial, we divided 60 ASA class I and II patients who were to under...
